hello@clipframe.app — for anything at all: a bug, a refund, a feature you need, or a question before buying.

Requirements

Which version am I running, and does my purchase cover both?

There are two builds of Clipframe and they unlock differently:

They do not currently unlock each other: an in-app purchase will not remove the watermark from the direct download, and a licence key does nothing in the App Store version.

If you bought one and want the other, write to hello@clipframe.app with your receipt. You will not be charged twice — one purchase, both versions.

The recording has no sound

Audio sources are chosen before you record, on the first screen. Tick Microphone for your voice and System audio for what the Mac is playing. Neither can be added afterwards.

If the microphone was ticked and there is still no voice, macOS refused the permission. Open System Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Microphone, enable Clipframe, then relaunch the app. The Audio tab reports what the recording actually contains, which tells you which of the two happened.

Captions say no speech was recognised

Transcription runs entirely on your Mac, using the dictation language installed on it. If you were speaking a language that is not installed, or the language picker above the button is set to the wrong one, nothing is recognised.

Install a language under System Settings ▸ Keyboard ▸ Dictation, then choose it in the Captions section.

The zooms do not land where I clicked

The App Store version of Clipframe runs in Apple's sandbox, which does not permit reading clicks from other apps. It zooms towards where your pointer comes to rest instead, which is close but not exact.

Every zoom is editable regardless: open Zooms in the Screen tab to move, retime, deepen or delete any of them, and to add your own.

Where my projects are kept

A .clipframe project holds your recording and the edit together, wherever you saved it. Nothing is stored on any server, and nothing is uploaded — you can move a project between Macs by copying the file.

Refunds

Purchases made through the Mac App Store are refunded by Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com. Direct purchases are refunded by us within 30 days, no reason needed — just write.
